Brian FitzGerald is the Owner/Education Consultant for Tutor Doctor Vancouver. Brian taught ESL in Japan for almost 4 years before returning to Canada. While the work started out as a short-term “experience” it developed into a significant life-changing period in his life, learning about another culture and people while helping them communicate in English.
He went on to a career in Project Management and Operations with Best Buy/Future Shop, most recently as the Director of Operations for the online photofinishing business. His work included rolling out a variety of programs that included training for head office and store staff.
“I was drawn to Tutor Doctor due the values, commitment and experience of the management team and other owners across the country. These were people who really embraced founder John Hooi’s philosophy: It’s one thing to make a dollar and another to make a difference.
“I also believe that one-on-one tutoring is beneficial to maximize results. And for parents to have one less event to coordinate; the in-home component saves them time, working around their schedule.”
Brian’s focus is to build a business that is known for the quality of the people involved and a sincere approach focused on strong customer service.
